Thursday's Meet: Bridgemill vs TL Sharks

Parents,

We're excited to host the Towne Lake Sharks here at home tomorrow night. Thank you to all of you who continue to fill these volunteer positions for me. Let's show them that we are kind, hospitable hosts.Southern hospitality and all that . . .

A couple of things to keep in mind for tomorrow:

  • Barracuda warm-ups will start at 5:00 sharp (not 5:30)! The home team warms up before the visiting team. Please have your swimmer here by 4:45pm.
  • All volunteers please sign in at the gazebo and grab your supplies. Everyone needs to be in position and ready to go for the meet to start on time at 6:00pm.
  • The swimmers in the 1st 5 events should be lined up during the National Anthem.
  • It is going to be very HOT. Please bring plenty of water and possibly even some electrolytes. We don't want anyone to get sick from the heat. I know the swimmers will be in and out of the water, but they can still be affected.
  • Please DO NOT lift your swimmer out of the water by their wrists. I have been guilty of this in the past, so no judgement here. But it can dislocate their shoulder and it it far better to lift them out by their armpits. Or teach them to climb out themselves (elbow, elbow, knee, knee is what Ms Autumn taught mine).
  • Please keep the deck clear and do not crowd the timers / recorders. I know you want to cheer (I'm one of the loudest) but we also want the timers to hear the whistle and such.

Lastly, you will see on Friday that all meets will be open for both swimmer declaration and jobs. Please check if you have fulfilled your volunteer requirements, and if not, please use these last two meets to do that.

As always, please let me know if you have questions. Text is always best if you need me on a Thursday. (678-733-5687)

Goooo Barracudas,

Laura
